Supply-chain execution and production traceability

Supply-chain decisions often cross systems, companies and locations. Execution coordination, production traceability and inventory automation serve different operational needs.

Does Opsis replace existing ERP or warehouse systems?

Opsis is positioned as an execution layer above ERP, WMS, TMS and POS systems. It coordinates decisions spanning organisations and systems while those systems retain their operational roles. The actual integration boundaries and sources of record need to be agreed for each operating environment.

Where does HHTrace fit?

HHTrace tracks production material transformations and reconciliation from receiving through shipping. It provides production traceability within the wider Opsis offering. Traceability explains what happened to material; a separate decision may still be needed before a discrepancy leads to an operational adjustment.

Can inventory automation begin without making operational changes?

Opsis AIR offers a shadow mode that records proposed actions without changing inventory. Its bounded-autonomy mode limits execution to configured rules and current conditions, with exceptions referred to people. Shadow-mode observations can inform scope decisions, but they are not a guarantee of future live results.

What authority needs to be clear across locations?

Identify who owns each inventory record, who can approve a movement and which limits apply to a local action. Escalation should name an accountable person or team. When multiple organisations are involved, a shared recommendation does not automatically grant permission to change each organisation’s systems.

How can a team evaluate coordination without replacing the whole estate?

Select one shortage, transfer or reconciliation workflow. Map its source records, existing systems and handoffs. Define the intended outcome and how it will be verified. Evaluate exceptions as well as the normal path before extending the scope to more locations or action types.

An illustrative evaluation

For a shortage workflow, identify the source inventory records, permitted locations, approval thresholds and exception owner. Evaluate proposed transfers in shadow mode. Compare each proposal with the current operating constraints before considering a wider execution scope. This is an evaluation approach, not a guaranteed deployment schedule or result.
